The Fusion of Two Cultures

On Saturday September 3^rd, 2011, Paparazzi Tonight Photo Booth had the privilege of celebrating not only the joining of husband and wife, but the fusion of two incredible cultures! Billie and Mo were married at the Nines Hotel in a collaborated Hawaiian/ Persian ceremony. The ballroom was adorned with silver & orange décor illuminated by candles and mood lighting.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails & hors d’oeuvres and tested the waters on Paparazzi Tonight’s red carpet! Although the first few shots were mild and contained, it wasn’t long before all of Billie & Mo’s friends and family members let down their hair and initiated the fun! Four generations graced our photo booth and we couldn’t have been happier to capture the joining of these two incredible families!

Dinner commenced, and the cultural dancing began. Belly dancers and fan dancers graced the dance floor to honor the groom’s Persian background, while the bride’s niece performed a traditional choreographed Hawaiian dance. After these amazing routines, guests were able to cut a rug and dance the night away.

The bride requested colorful props to match her silver and orange décor. She also wanted her Hawaiian culture represented with Hawaiian leis, straw hats, Bird of Paradise flowers, and OUR favorite… vintage Hawaiian license plates! The bride was so excited to see them that she pointed them out, and told her sister “remember when we had that license plate on our car!” To say the least, she was pleasantly surprised.

The night was filled with laughter, cheering, and most of all love! Paparazzi Tonight Photo booth captured all these moments, and presented the bride and groom with a scrapbook of all their pictures at the end of the night. These two families were a joy to work with and we are so happy for Billie and Mo. Congratulations you two!

Garden Vineyards will not be hosting weddings after this season at their winery estate. They will continue to host corporate events though. From what I understand, a state law has been put into effect limiting the number of events a winery can have each year. This is a loss for Portland brides and the wedding industry in general.There are so many great venues in our world famous pinot noir region. We will miss you Garden Vineyards!!

Pretty in Pink

Myle and Michael celebrated their wedding day with family and friends at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Paparazzi Tonight Photo Booth decked out the red carpet open-air, photo op / photo booth area with pink, pink, PINK! Boas, hats, sunglasses, picture frames, boxing gloves, to and actual 1960′s pink rotary phone were touched with the prominent color of pink.

In Vietnamese weddings, it is tradition for guests to have their photographs taken with the bride and the groom upon entrance to the reception area. We positioned our photo booth so guests could easily trickle in and take their pictures with the bride and groom. These first photos captured great family portraits that were classy and formal. As the night progressed, guests were encouraged to let out their inner divas, rock-stars, & models while they played with fun props and helped create a memorable album for Myle & Michael to take home that evening. We had an amazing time printing 800+ awesome photo prints and we were pleased with the guests’ enthusiasm.

We’re pretty sure they all had a blast! To say the least, Myle & Michael’s guests were Tickled Pink!

Paparazzi Tonight Photo Booth & Event Entertainment Since 2007

This was Paparazzi Tonight Photobooth’s very first event at the Marshall House and we loved it! We set up our red carpet and personalized backdrop in a gorgeous Victorian era room with ornate detail trim work, real stained glass windows, and to-die-for Eastlake antiques! For over a century, the homes in the Historic Reserve area, have served as residential housing for many of the soldiers, officers and families stationed at the Vancouver Barracks. The venue is a perfect event space for an indoor/outdoor wedding of 150-300 people.

Laura and Aaron’s guests came into our room to express their joy, happiness, and fun-loving spirits in our photo booth without the booth! Each guest was able to take home a copy of every photo that they were in! While all the guests were having a ball, our assistants printed out an extra copy of every photo to help  create an unforgettable guest book for the bride and groom to take home that evening. It was filled with tons of memories from their special day!

The guests loved getting dressed up and playing with all our unique props. Laura requested vintage props with a historical relevance, such as, derby hats for women, military inspired accessories, fedoras, and so much more. Guests used our one-of-a-kind props to take memorable photos with their friends and family! The only part Paparazzi Tonight Photo Booth regrets, is being able to see the bride and her marine groom cut their wedding cake with his military sword!

Be Yourself and Personalize Your Wedding!

As you can see, Sarah & Chad and all their guests had WAY TOO MUCH FUN (can you really have way too much fun?… we don’t think so!) with their Star Wars / Cowboys props!! (Chad LOVES Star Wars & Sarah love everything country.) Grannies with Guns & Grooms with Buns were the highlights of the evening! We were lucky enough to capture so many fabulous moments with our red carpet set-up, that the bride and groom’s guest book was filled with hundreds of “Laugh Out Loud,” & unforgettable memories!

Sarah had so many creative custom design elements in her reception and they were all designed and created to wedding perfection. I hope she enters photos for the Local Weddings section of Portland Bride and Groom Magazine. From the hand embroidered table runners with centerpieces of upcycled silver plated tea pots to the homemade jelly wedding favors to her themed photo booth, us , it was all perfectly adorable.

Postlewaits Country Weddings was the perfect venue for Sarah & Chad to start their life together.This unique venue has a phenomenal outdoor area where guests can mosey along through a huge field to an old barn and saloon called The Hitchin’ Post. The venue has a distinct old Western feel. Postlewaits is a new wedding venue recently remodeled this spring with upgraded outdoor reception seating, handicapped parking, new restrooms and beautiful landscaping.  The waterfalls are incredible. We love, love, love working at this venue and highly recommend! We’re the photo booth without the Booth… Where every guest is a STAR!!

Julie & Thanh – The Governor

Many times a bridal party is dressed, ready to go and anxious for the events to begin. We always arrive 2 hours before the first guests arrive so we can take what we call “early bird” pictures. For both the bridal party as well as guests, it helps to have something to do while you’re waiting. We take four photobooth – esque photos four seconds apart and print copies for as many people as are in each shot. It’s a great opportunity to get the guest book started too! This early shooting doesn’t count in the official four hour time block we shoot…It’s a little wedding gift from us.

Following are some of my personal thoughts and observations as I stroll through many aspects of the wedding industry.

Doesn’t every couple dread the possible scenario of a dull, routine wedding reception? You’re having your day of celebration, and everyone you want is invited to be part of it, and it’s boring…what could be worse?

I didn’t really think of a Paparazzi Tonight’s photo booth as being the universal answer for more energy and participation out of guests at an event until I saw them in action. My hubby and I met them at the Rose City Bridal Show, and saw them again at the Brides Against Breast Cancer Bridal Show, at which point we gave in ourselves and took pictures. They were awesome! We took a few pictures, and as soon as we were done, they popped right out of their printer on the spot. I was pretty impressed at how simple and quick it was to get our pictures. I walked over to the table that had all of the props on it, and right next to the vintage hats and odd signs was a book with some blank pages that was used as a guest book. There were cute little messages and well-wishings, along with pictures from the photo booth. Each set of pictures had space for a custom message, which could be the wedding date, the name of the bride and groom, or a short thank-you note from the newlyweds. After I saw that little book, I was sold! Couples are getting creative when it comes to their guest book, so it was a great idea!

The over sized sunglasses, crazy hats, feather boas, and giant wedding rings definitely make this photo booth a little different than the usual wedding photography, and should not be used instead of a regular photographer. This piece of entertainment should be used as a supplementary keepsake to your wedding photos. They can be used as favors for your guests, guestbook entries, or any other use you can think of for these handy, quick pics. Along with the prints you get on the spot, you also get access to all of the photos from your event. Don’t worry, they are password protected so your family and friends can access them as well, but they won’t be public (unless you want them to be).

“Paparazzi Tonight is a must have at any wedding! We met Robin & Erik at a Macy’s Sip & Scan event. They were the hit of the event. They had all the energy and excitement I wanted at my wedding. We hired them on the spot. Working with them was EASY. They custom designed a layout for my photos that included my favorite flower Birds of Paradise. I added on the option of having 2 screens show a live feed of the pictures that are taken at the party. That was a good choice, throughout the night people got their 15 seconds of fame on the big screen. The guest book they gave me at the end was an amazing memory to take away. Within 24 hours ALL of my guests had a Paparazzi photo as their facebook picture. That’s because Paparazzi upload the pics of your event the night of the party! Impressive! I’ve gone to parties with photobooths before, but they are NOTHING like this! Paparazzi bring out the personalities from otherwise dull guests, they pose you, taunt you, and put on an awesome show!” Veronica Hanson

It was our 5th trade show this fall and we had a wonderful time with all our 2011 & a few 2012 brides.  We were demonstrating on site by having an example of our popular red carpet paparazzi-style photo booth available for complimentary photos. We printed instantly on site and showed our fantastic entertainment/wedding favor/guest book solution.

We’d like to give a shout out to Trisha and Alex, Kelsey and Tony, and Victoria and Tobin for booking with us! We look forward to making you weddings fantastic! We are looking forward to heading out to McCall, Idaho for Kelsey and Tony’s wedding. Beautiful country along the Salmon River.
