We found ourselves Friday, January 8, at The Nines capturing the festivities and the achievements of Frito Lay’s western division. Sales people came from nine states to celebrate their successes from 2009.

We took a lot of large work group shots and printed out copies for each person in the shot. For corporate events, it really helps team building to get 10-15 people in one shot and then to work together to take 4 shots 4 seconds apart. Everyone has to ham it up and play around. At this particular function, there were several of the top executives leaving Oregon getting promotions to Frito Lay headquarters in Plano, Texas. This was the last chance to get photos with them and capture some great memories in a corporate photo give-away they could put in their office or on their home frig. Wild Bill’s also entertained with casino games and a fun game of trivia.

Another fun party idea from this event was a contest shot. The meeting planner from Frito Lay had us take a “make a muscle” shot with each couple. They’ll have an inter-office competition to decide the winner. Here are some examples:

December 31, 2009 found us at two of the coolest New Year’s parties in Portland. The Champagne Ball at the Hilton Executive Tower and The Nines’ New Year’s Bash themed after Johnny Depp’s upcoming movie, Alice in Wonderland. (See next post for pics from “Through the Looking Glass.”)

1000+ Portlanders attended the Champagne Ball this year. We had two paparazzi-style photo station set ups in the Grand Ballroom. We offered all night packages so everyone could get pictures and print outs as often as they wished. As of today, we’ve had over 12,000 picture views and free hi-res downloads from the website gallery. Paparazzi Tonight rocked the house with our unique paparazzi photo booth photos…Happy 2010!

Terrell and Kelly

It was an all star event at Oswego Lake Country Club for the wedding of Terrell and Kelly. The trees were just turning colors and the first feel of fall was in the air. Guests had traveled from Arizona, Texas, and California to share in the wedding day of Terrell and Kelly. All went seamlessly and it was a fantastic event.

Erik and I had never had an event at the OLCC and we were very excited to shoot the reception photo entertainment in our Paparazzi Tonight Photo Booth. We were also happy to see our favorite wedding photographers, AJ’s Photography, as well as our favorite DJ’s, Event Team. Geranium Lake Flowers were the florists. We also met Greg James of Solstice Video and from the look of the sample videos of his website, he is superb.

It took me forever….okay almost an hour and a half to whittle down my favorite shots from the night.

My new MOST FAVORITE SHOT EVER!! They were shocked he even picked her up but how AWESOME of a shot!!!!!

This little cutie pie couldn't keep it quiet during the ceremony. Her father brought her back to us and she turned out to LOVE the camera. We took at least 100 pictures of her by herself and occupied her for the rest of the ceremony.

One thing I really like about taking these photos is that couples can be serious in one shot, sexy 4 seconds later, and crazy 4 more seconds later…..like this:

I also love family resemblances in photos. In the example below, it’s more of a facial expression similarity. The two on the left just naturally make the same goofy faces in the same shot.

We made an Edge to Edge custom overlay for the event. The prints looked like this:

We had country themed props…mostly hats and glasses. The guitar was by far the most popular.

Congratulations to Tori & Jeremy! Gray Gables was the perfect place for this “chance of sprinkles” wedding. By the end of the outdoor ceremony, everyone was gently to moderately coated with some fine Oregon liquid sunshine. Everyone dried off quickly and the reception went off without a hitch.

Photo favors are so perfect……..you get a photo album of your guests with their comments to you, they get to take home photos of the memories they made at your event and they can keep them forever. Most candy favors don’t last longer than the wedding cake. Photo favors also make your reception exciting as well as giving them something To Do that is creative and active during the event.

We were prop free but they were not needed. Photo booths really give guests something creative to do during a party or reception. Posing options are unlimited. The overwhelmingly popular posing theme of the photos seemed to be “change emotions every four seconds.” Since our camera is on a timer once Erik adjusts for height, everyone naturally changes and holds their pose until the next flash.
